Oberg Keeps Production Line Running During Plant Closure

A leading door lock manufacturer needed to coordinate a plant closure involving the transfer of 232 stamping tools. This complex project involved over 500 part numbers along with various stamping press lines, associated part inspection fixtures, and equipment.

Oberg’s value-added/value-engineering team evaluated the current processes and identified productivity improvements. Within 3 months, Oberg recreated all necessary production cells, obtained required first article inspections (FAIs), documented work instructions and quality metrics.

Qualified parts were completed ahead of schedule. Oberg also met all customer objectives and offered jobs to displaced workers. Our team generated over $1.2 million in overall process efficiency savings.
