Choosing your next employer is a big decision and it usually leaves you asking, "What can this new opportunity provide me in addition to a pay check?" You want to understand how you will fit into the culture, does the company and position you are interested in provide you with stability and room to grow... and the questions go on from there. Some questions are commonly asked and have answers readily available as you will see below. However, we understand that each applicant may have very unique and varied questions or concerns that are specific to them and possibly their family. We want to give applicants an opportunity to build confidence in their decision to work at Oberg. We know we have something special to offer, we just need to make sure you feel the same way.

FAQs

What happens after I apply for a position?
Your application will be reviewed by Human Resources to ensure you have all of the requisite skills and experience for the position you are applying for. A more in-depth review of applications and resumes is then performed by the respective product division directors and managers. For those applicants that we wish to learn more about, Human Resources will coordinate an interview and possibly assist you in any travel arrangements you may need to make for your visit to Oberg.

Can I apply for more than one job posting at a time?
Yes, you can apply to more than one job at a time. You will need to fill out individual applications for each job. Mass applying for positions that do not match your qualifications is not recommended for success.

Are all sections of the application to be completed?
It is your responsibility to ensure that all sections of your application are completed. Incomplete or improperly completed applications may be rejected even if you are qualified for the position for which you are applying. Likewise, it is your responsibility to be sure that your application reflects the required work experience and education needed to meet the minimum requirements for the position(s) for which you are applying.

How can I increase my chances of being called for an interview?
Given the unique skills and qualifications we are seeking, we strongly recommend that you target and apply only for those positions that closely match your abilities and relevant contributions. Be sure to carefully read the job description and pay special attention to the experience and skills that are being sought, as well as any specific requirements. Remember that your application will only be considered for those positions where you meet the minimum requirements. Mass applying for positions that do not match your qualifications is not recommended for success.

How long are applications kept on file?
Applications are stored for 3 years from the date they are entered into our applicant tracking log.

Do I need to mail you a copy of my college transcripts? What about letters of reference?
You need to consult with each job posting for details surrounding the application requirements.

What is an Alternate Work Schedule (AWS) job?
An AWS work schedule allows an employee in specific positions to receive a premium pay on top of their base pay rate. This schedule demands an employee to work weekends and holidays, and in turn for their flexibility, they will receive this premium.

Do I need to bring my own tools to work at Oberg?
You may bring your own tools to work. In addition, Oberg has a tool purchase program where you can purchase tools on a payment plan.

Does Oberg offer relocation assistance for talent that is outside of Southwestern PA?
Relocation assistance will be reviewed on a case-by-case basis. Distance, family living situation and needs, along with the level of position the candidate is being hired into will all be factors in qualifying for assistance.
