Equipment Highlights

Machining

• 28 Multi-axis Machining Centers including 3, 4, and 5 axis capabilities and spindle speeds from 8,000 to 42,000 rpm. Largest 5-axis table is 31" X 25", while the largest 3-axis table is 59" X 157". Machines feature glass scales, touch probes, and laser tool setting.
• 14 CNC and Manual Machining Centers with spindle speeds up to 6,000 rpm and table sizes up to 31" X 15"
• 3 CNC Swiss Turning Centers with 12' bar feed capability

Turning

• 10 CNC Turning Centers including a 10-axis turning machine, 3 multi-task machines, and 5 high speed turning centers.
• 10-axis Turning Machine with 3 tools cutting simultaneously and 36 driven tools. 6" maximum diameter and 24" bed length
• 4 Multi-tasking Machines feature 30" maximum turning diameter, 60" bed length, and 12" main chuck with 10" sub-spindle chuck.

Grinding

• Over 150 various grinders including surface, jig, OD, ID, and contour grinding machines.
• Newest CNC grinder has C-axis function for non-round components and threads.
• Surface grinders equipped with Oberg developed touch screen controllers.
• Jig grinders with grinding heads from 25,000 rpm to 175,000 rpm
• ID grinding from 0.050" to 20" diameter and OD grinding from 16" to 0.050" diameter

EDM

• 29 Wire Machines with maximum travel of 24.80" X 15.75" X 15.75" using 0.004" to 0.010" diameter wire auto threading.
• 2 Machines equipped with C-axis capability
• 14 Sinker Machines capable of working with part sizes up to 13.78" x 9.84" x 9" and using two robotic loaders for both parts and electrodes. All electrodes are made internally at Oberg.

Stamping

• 53 stamping presses ranging from 18 to 300 tons with speeds up to 1200 strokes per minute.
• 2 Hydroforming Presses used to produce complex shapes like spheres and large radii.
• Stamping Lines can all be integrated with inline vision inspection, in die assembly, and laser welding.

Quality

• Featuring 6 CMM Machines, 10 Micro-height gauges, and over 60 optical comparators in climate controlled settings.
• CMM's capable of accuracy to 2 Microns (.000080") over full travel of machine table of 33" X 45" X 24".
• Mirco-height maximum height range to 20" and optical comparators maximum at 30" with 100X readout.

Heat Treating

• 2 Vacuum Furnaces for hardening and annealing metals capable of holding parts to 45" X 27" X 30" total area.
• 6 Tempering Ovens with 42" X 30" X 24" area.
• 2 Cryogenic Chambers to -320° F capable of processing parts to 36" X 72" X 36" total area.
