When a leading door lock manufacturer was looking at an upcoming plant closure, they needed a solution for transferring 232 stamping tools without impacting production. The complex project involved over 500 part numbers and numerous stamping press lines, part inspection fixtures and equipment.

Our engineering team, using Oberg’s Manufacturing Transfer Methodology, evaluated the company’s current production processes and unlocked new productivity improvements. Oberg quickly recreated all necessary production cells, obtained required first article inspections (FAIs), documented work instructions and quality metrics, all within 12 weeks.

The Results

In addition to $1.2 million in process efficiency savings, Qualified parts were completed ahead of schedule. Oberg also met all customer objectives and offered jobs to displaced workers. Our team generated over $1.2 million in overall process efficiency savings.
